Ingredients

  • For the Dough:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil¾ cup warm water

  • For the Topping:
  • 250g ground beef or lamb

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped

  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste

  • 1 green pepper, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon cumin

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  • Prepare the Dough:
  • In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and yeast.

    Add olive oil and warm water, knead into a smooth dough (about 5 minutes).

    Let the dough rest for 30 minutes, covered with a damp cloth.
  • Make the Topping:
  • In a bowl, mix the ground meat with onion, tomato, green pepper, garlic, tomato paste, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.

    Combine well until the mixture is smooth.
  • Shape the Dough:
  • Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).

    Divide the dough into 4 small balls and roll each into a thin circle.
  • Add the Topping:
  • Spread the meat mixture thinly over each dough circle.
  • Bake:
  • Place the lahmacun on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until crispy and golden around the edges.

Notes

  • Serve:Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the lahmacun and serve with fresh parsley, tomatoes, or lettuce.
