Ingredients

  • For the Chocolate Cake Base:
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/4 cup butter (softened)1 large egg

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

  • 1/8 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • For the Mango Mousse:
  • 1 cup mango puree

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1/2 tsp gelatin (dissolved in 2 tbsp warm water)

  • For the Chocolate Mousse:
  • 100 grams dark chocolate (chopped)

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 2 tbsp sugar

Directions

  • Prepare the Chocolate Cake Base:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 6-inch round cake pan.In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

    In another bowl, beat together butter, sugar, and egg until creamy. Add milk and vanilla extract.Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until smooth.

    Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.Let it cool completely.
  • Make Mango Mousse:
  • Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.

    Fold in the mango puree, sugar, and dissolved gelatin.

    Spread the mango mousse over the cooled chocolate cake and refrigerate for 1 hour to set.
  • Make Chocolate Mousse:
  • Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave or double boiler and let it cool slightly.

    Whip the cream with sugar until soft peaks form.

    Gently fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream.Spread the chocolate mousse over the set mango mousse layer.
  • Chill and Serve:
  • Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to let the mousse layers set.

    Garnish with mango slices or chocolate shavings if desired before serving.
